CrossFit Level 2
Coach, and "ONE TOUGH COOKIE"
I'm originally from Hays, Kansas, but I moved to Bethany, Oklahoma when I was 4 and have been planted here ever since. I went to Bethany schools from pre-K all the way through graduation and played basketball and volleyball growing up. Once I graduated high school, I felt like I didn't have a competitive outlet to pour into. I felt lost. I gained over fifty pounds over the course of 6 months. I tried working out on my own, but I had no direction for what to do. I had no knowledge of lifting, so I would just be on the cardio machines for anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour. I was absolutely bored and miserable.
Then I would go home and eat only junk food to make myself feel better and the next day I would force myself to go to the gym and be on the cardio machines again because I felt so guilty from everything I had eaten the night before. It was just a vicious cycle that kept repeating for months. In 2017 my dad dragged me to a CrossFit class because he thought I needed to try something different. I was extremely introverted and there was no part of me that wanted to go. However, after my first class (and getting over the feeling of needing to vomit) I fell in love with it! I loved the push from the other members and the drive I felt to give it my best. It was nothing like I had ever experienced. I loved the idea of being focused on what my body could do rather than what it looked like. I currently have my L2 CrossFit Certification and have now been coaching for over 6 years! I am so grateful that I get to do what I love every day and continue to help people reach their fitness goals!
